Terms & Conditions

These terms govern your use of Transactor, the expense and invoice tracker available at www.transactor.app ("the Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. The Service

Transactor lets you record business income and expenses, manage entities, employees, and companies, attach invoices and receipts, and generate reports and invoices. The Service is free to use — there is no paid tier, no trial period, and no credit card required. We intend to keep it that way, but "free forever" is a promise of intent, not a contractual guarantee of perpetual operation.

2. Your account

• You must provide a valid email address and keep your credentials confidential. You are responsible for all activity under your account.
• You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to use the Service.
• Notify us at support@transactor.app if you suspect unauthorised use of your account.

3. One account, our other products

Your Transactor account is also the sign-in for our other products — currently Balance (balance.transactor.app). Transactor is the only place you type your password; those products never see it.

Each product has its own terms and its own privacy policy, and using one does not sign you up for another — nothing happens until you choose to sign in there. When you do, that product is told who you are (account id, name, email) and nothing about your books; the detail is in the Privacy Policy. Your use of that product is governed by its terms, not these, and it keeps its own separate records. Closing your Transactor account ends your ability to sign in to those products, but does not by itself delete what you stored in them — ask us to delete both if that is what you want.

4. Programmatic access

You may create personal access tokens to use Transactor from our Mac app, from an AI assistant connector, or from software of your own. A token acts with your full access, so:

• You are responsible for everything done with a token you created, exactly as if you had done it in the app yourself.
• Keep tokens secret, and revoke any you no longer need. Note that changing your password does not revoke tokens.
• Do not use tokens to circumvent limits, to place unreasonable load on the Service, or to build a competing service from bulk-extracted data.
• The API may change. It is offered for your own use rather than as a stable contract, so pin nothing critical on it without expecting to adjust.

If you connect an AI assistant, remember that whatever it is asked about your records passes through that assistant's own service, under that service's terms. That is your decision to make, and outside our control.

5. Your data

You own the data you put into Transactor — your records, entities, files, and company details. By using the Service you grant us the limited licence needed to store, process, back up, and display that data to you and anyone you share your companies with. How we handle data is described in the Privacy Policy. We never sell your data, and we never share it beyond what section 3 describes.

You are responsible for the accuracy and legality of the data you enter, including having the right to upload any files you attach.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for anything unlawful, including money laundering, fraud, or evading taxes.
• Attempt to breach, probe, or overload our systems, or access other users' data.
• Reverse engineer, scrape, or resell the Service.
• Upload malicious files or content that infringes others' rights.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

7. Not professional advice

Transactor is a bookkeeping tool, not an accountant. Reports, totals, and tax-related fields (such as GST identifiers) are provided for your convenience and do not constitute accounting, tax, or legal advice. You are responsible for your own filings and compliance — when in doubt, consult a qualified professional.

8. Availability and changes to the Service

We work to keep Transactor fast and available, but the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We may add, change, or remove features at any time. If we ever decide to discontinue the Service, we will make reasonable efforts to give you notice and a chance to export your data.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Transactor and its maker shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunity arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Service. The Service is free; our total aggregate liability for any claim is limited to ₹1,000 (one thousand Indian rupees).

10. Intellectual property

The Transactor name, logo, design, and software are our intellectual property. These terms do not grant you any rights to them beyond using the Service as intended. Your data remains yours (see section 5).

11. Termination

You may stop using Transactor at any time and request deletion of your account by emailing support@transactor.app. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or that we are required to act on by law. On termination, your right to use the Service ends; deletion of your data is handled as described in the Privacy Policy.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the revised terms.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of India.
